Drew T. Schaub

CEO and Partner

Andrew “Drew” Schaub grew up surrounded by architecture. Having spent his childhood in and around design studios, he developed an early understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the profession—even if he initially thought he’d take a different path. As a teenager, Drew explored interests in medicine, teaching, and engineering—anything but architecture. Yet during his senior year of high school, he surprised everyone, including himself, by deciding to follow in his father’s footsteps. Architecture, he realized, was the perfect balance between creativity, problem-solving, and working with people.

Drew earned his Master of Architecture from Drury University in 2013, graduating with a minor in Global Studies and a concentration in Technology and Sustainability. While at Drury, he discovered a passion for digital art and architectural representation, taking additional courses in digital graphics to strengthen his design communication skills.

His studies also took him abroad, where he spent two months living and learning in Paris. Immersed in the city’s art and architecture, Drew gained a deep appreciation for the European design tradition and its relationship to culture and history. He later backpacked through the rural regions of southern France, sketching and photographing ancient towns and structures—experiences that continue to influence his design philosophy today.

During college, Drew was an active member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, where he served three years on the Executive Council, including one term as Eminent Commander (Chapter President). Each summer, he returned home to work at his father’s firm, where he developed his technical expertise and a strong sense of professional discipline.

After graduating, Drew joined Schaub+Srote Architects, where his organizational skills and attention to detail quickly set him apart. He advanced to leading projects within the firm’s commercial division, managing complex designs and guiding clients from initial concept through construction completion. His hands-on approach and ability to translate design ideas into built form earned him the trust of clients and colleagues alike.

In late 2018, Drew partnered with his father, David Schaub, to establish Schaub Projects Architecture + Design. Together, they blend generational insight, innovation, and craftsmanship to create spaces that are both timeless and forward-thinking.

Outside the office, Drew lives in Creve Coeur with his wife, Karen, and their rescue dogs, Annie and Frankie. He enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, being with friends, and cheering on the St. Louis Blues.
