Aaron S. Odle
Director of the Structural Engineering
Aaron S. Odle is Director of the Structural Engineering Department at Schaub Projects Architecture + Design. He brings a full-service structural engineering practice to the firm’s high-end custom residential work, with a philosophy that shapes how he leads the department: engineering shouldn’t just support a design—it should elevate it, through solutions that stay economical and buildable without compromising the architect’s intent.
Aaron began his career in civil design before joining a well-respected St. Louis engineering firm as a structural engineer in 2007. Since then, he’s contributed to more than 2,500 projects spanning custom homes, mid-rise multi-use buildings, and residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, and light-industrial work across multiple states—though housing remains what he enjoys most. His experience ranges from foundation design, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood and timber systems to structural renovations and mid-rise light-frame design, and he’s equally comfortable managing a project, assessing an existing structure, or coordinating public agency review and permitting.
What sets Aaron apart is his attitude as much as his expertise. Structural engineers have a reputation for being the ones who place limits on project design options; Aaron is the opposite—collaborative, creative, and energized by finding the buildable, economical solution that honors and elevates the architect’s (and client’s) unique vision.
He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2006) and a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary (2012), and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri and a member of ASCE and NSPE.
Aaron is excited to bring his collaborative approach to Schaub Projects, the premier high-end residential architecture firm in St. Louis. He looks forward to growing the structural engineering department and expanding the team’s creative capacities. Aaron is a firm believer that life is more than work and much of that life is filled with his partner and four children. He delights in cooking, native nature scaping, gardening, biking, urban hiking, birding, woodworking, and unlimited opportunities for play and laughter.
